THE TOW BAR - TURBOSWING

TurboSwing is a unique and patented towing system for boats powered by an outboard motor. TurboSwing focus on both the leisure market for water skiing, wakeboarding and fun tubing, and on the professional market for rescue operations and towing boats and other floating objects.

Advantages of the TurboSwing

The TurboSwing makes your boat directionally stable and manoeuvrable and provides up to 20 hp more pull force. The tow bar is easy to install and protects the motor. The TurboSwing is suitable for all brands of outboard motors.

 Advantages of the TurboSwing

  • Up to 20 hp more pulling power
  • Fuel economy
  • Protects the motor (safety)
  • For all brands of outboard motor
  • Universal installation on the motor bracket
  • Makes the boat directionally stable and manoeuvrable
  • Keeps the tow rope well above the wake
  • AutoTrim, height adjustable
  • Tow rope easy to hook on and off
  • The tow bar can be quickly removed
  • TurboSwing Twin for twin motors

 Advantages of the TowRescue

  • Safe, the towing boat determines the direction of travel, instead of the towed object
  • More pulling power from less motor power, fuel saving
  • Excellent directional stability and manoeuvrability
  • Universal installation on the motor bracket
  • Protection of the motor
  • EZpulley™ : pulley allows the tow rope to be easily hooked on and off combined with a Quick Release for use in an emergency
  • The pull and thrust forces converge in the outboard swivel bracket
  • High stability due to lower attachment point
  • AutoTrim: the tow bar is raised automatically with the motor and is adjustable in height

What model do I need?

We supply the TurboSwing for leisure activities, including water skiing, wakeboarding and fun tubing. For the professional (rescue) towing of boats and other floating objects, we supply the TowRescue.

Why is the TurboSwing suitable for water skiing?

Water skiers want a low flat wake and a directionally stable boat. A towing bridle is far from ideal for a sports boat or RIB and neither is a ski pole, because the high attachment point for the tow rope leads to an unstable boat, a slow start and an unpleasantly high wake.

Advantages when water skiing

The ideal height of the tow rope is hip high, certainly for the slalom, and this is the height of the TurboSwing. The TurboSwing tow bar offers perfect directional stability, optimal response and a tow rope that stays well above the wake. The boat has a better balance and rides flatter on the water, irrespective of its speed, and the skier can make much smoother carving turns.

Why is the TurboSwing suitable for wakeboarding?

Wakeboarders want a directionally stable boat, a high attachment point for the tow rope and a high constant wake. A towing bridle is not an option, neither is a ski pole. It is true that a ski pole provides a higher attachment point, but it leads to an unstable boat and an unstable, variable wake.

Advantages when wakeboarding

Thanks to the TurboSwing tow bar, the attachment point for the tow rope can be adjusted to the top of the motor. This offers perfect directional stability, optimum response and the boat remains better in balance. Because steering adjustments are hardly or no longer required, an additional 10 - 20 HP is available for trimming out the motor, and therefore for raising the height of the wake.

Advantages for the wakeboarder

For the wakeboarder: the TurboSwing makes his or her movements and tricks much smoother than when a towing bridle or ski pole is used. The attachment point of the tow rope is not as high as when a ski pole is used, but the TurboSwing makes it possible to create a higher and much more stable wake: the basis for high jumps and great tricks.

Why is the TurboSwing suitable for Fun tubing?

Fun tubing: the more action the better. At high speed through the turn, preferably with 2 or 3 people at the same time. This does, however, lead to high peak loads; a ski pole is therefore not an option; neither is a towing bridle, this pulls the tow rope under water.

Advantages for fun tubing

Thanks to the TurboSwing, the attachment point for the tow rope is ideal, just above the wake the pull and thrust forces act through the rotation point of the boat. Moreover, the TurboSwing is adjustable and is attached to the strongest point of the boat: the motor bracket.

Maximum speed

The boat rides flatter in the turns and retains the maximum speed. Fun tubing will now really be fun, at top speed. The TurboSwing is of course also very suitable for towing a banana fun tube.

Why is the TowRescue suitable for rescuing?

With the TowRescue, the boat has maximum stability under all conditions, thanks to the low attachment point of the tow rope. Because the force imparted by the tow rope acts through the outboard swivel bracket, the boat manoeuvres and responds very directly

Multiple lifelines

Multiple lifelines can be attached to the TowRescue, without them immediately becoming caught up in the propeller. In case of emergency, people in the water behind the boat can push themselves away from the motor.

More safety

On the open sea, lifeboats can rapidly attach multiple life rafts and bring the people to safety without this influencing the sailing properties of the lifeboat. In the event of a fire, this allows life rafts/ people in the water to be brought to safety even against the wind.

Why is the TowRescue suitable for towing?

Heavy objects are normally towed in unfavourable weather conditions. This often leads to dangerous situations for both the boat and crew, as the boat is no longer (properly) under control and too much power is used unnoticed.

Dangers of towing with a light boat and without TowRescue®

When using a light work boat powered by an outboard motor, during towing operations the boat is often pulled off course, it is unstable making it difficult to keep one's grip. This is because the attachment point of the tow rope is behind (at the triangle) or in front of (when a tow pole is used) the point of rotation of the boat. This results in the boat understeering or oversteering. The boat becomes dangerously unstable and 'digs in'.

More control and safety with the TowRescue®

The TowRescue is the ideal solution for these problems. It provides the optimum ratio of pulling power to motor power. The minimum motor power can be used, the boat remains stable and does not dig in. Moreover, the TowRescue serves as a protective bar for the vulnerable motor cowl. It is also possible to stand on the TowRescue when on the open sea to, for instance, inspect the propeller or remove debris from around it. In short, the TowRescue increases the pulling power due to better boat control and as such improves the safety of the towing boat and her crew.

Towing using the TowRescue®

With the TowRescue, smaller motors are able to tow more and tow better. The direction travelled is determined by the tow boat instead of by the towed object.
